Why You Should Roll a Mousepad Surface-Inward

Rolling surface-inward prevents permanent creases in the rubber base. When the rubber is on the inside of the roll, compression can create a fold that never flattens.

Rolling surface-inward puts the rubber under gentle tension instead. Tension is far less likely to set a permanent crease than compression.

Rolling surface-inward also protects the fabric surface from dirt and oils. The rubber side takes the abuse instead of the side you actually use.

Store the mousepad flat when possible, but if you must roll it, do it loosely. A tight roll increases the risk of damage regardless of orientation.
