Why is my pool water still cloudy after shocking it?

Yes. Shock kills bacteria and algae, but it doesn’t remove the dead particles. If your water is still cloudy, the filter isn’t doing its job — or you need to run it longer. The most common fix: run your pump 24 hours and backwash or clean the filter. If that doesn’t clear it, check your chemistry — high calcium hardness or phosphates can make water hazy even after shocking.
