Why is my pool cloudy after shocking it?

It’s normal. Shocking oxidizes organic stuff, and dead algae turns the water milky. The two most common reasons: either you killed a bloom and the junk is floating, or your calcium hardness is high and the shock made it precipitate out. Both resolve with time and filtration — run the pump 24/7 and clean the filter. Don’t add more shock until it clears.
