Why does rain turn my pool green, and how do I fix it?

Rain brings in organic junk that feeds algae, dilutes chlorine, and knocks pH out of whack. Fix it by shocking aggressively to 10-15 ppm chlorine, brushing walls and floor, and running the pump 24/7 for a day or two. Don’t use algaecide until after shocking.
