Where should the water level be in my pool skimmer?

Keep the water level at the middle of the skimmer opening. Low water causes the pump to lose prime and burn out, while high water lets debris skip over the skimmer door and can flood the pump area. Aim for the waterline to hit halfway up the skimmer faceplate.
