Where does the album title "Ys" come from?

The album is named after the mythical Breton city of Ys, which legend says was built on the coast of Brittany and later swallowed by the ocean. Joanna Newsom chose the title after dreaming of the letters Y and S, and it fits the album’s otherworldly, ancient-modern tension perfectly.
