When should I replace workshop extension cords?

Replace them when they show damage, not after a set time. Inspect every few months for cuts, exposed conductors, cracked insulation, or bent ground prongs—if you see copper, bin it. A cord that looks good and passes a continuity test is still safe regardless of age, but don’t push it since a new cord is cheap and a workshop fire is not.
