When should I backwash my DE pool filter?

Backwash when the pressure gauge reads 8–10 PSI above the clean baseline pressure. Don’t rely on a calendar schedule—DE filters clog at different rates depending on use and weather. After backwashing, always add fresh DE through the skimmer.
