When is the best time to take a boat tour for fall foliage views at Niagara Falls?

Late September to early October is peak foliage time. Hornblower (Canadian side) and Maid of the Mist (American side) both give you a gorge-level view of the autumn colors along the Niagara River, when the canyon walls are on fire with color.
