What's the simplest way to apply sunscreen to your own back?

Use a spray sunscreen—twist and spray in a wide arc, holding your breath and closing your eyes. But a back applicator (a long-handled sponge, about $10) is better: zero waste, even coverage, no contortion. Either beats having someone awkwardly rub lotion on you. Don’t skip your back—melanoma doesn’t care about your flexibility.
