What's the difference between a glass mousepad and a ceramic mousepad?

Glass is faster with a near-frictionless icy glide, but it demands good PTFE skates and a sensor that won’t freak out on reflective surfaces. Ceramic pads are smooth with a bit more texture, but sensor compatibility is basically a non-issue. If you want pure speed and don’t mind upgrading mouse feet, glass wins; if you want fast but fuss-free, go ceramic.
