What's the best way to start a gas chainsaw without flooding it?

Set the choke full on, pull the cord until the engine coughs once (2–3 pulls), then immediately turn the choke off and pull again — it should start within 2 pulls. Don’t touch the throttle; most saws don’t need it on cold start. If it doesn’t fire after the choke step, check the fuel mix or spark plug.
