What usually causes a frozen side brush on a vacuum?

Hair wrapped around the axle inside the brush housing is the culprit at least 90% of the time. Pull the brush off, clean the axle with tweezers or scissors, and if it still won’t spin, check the motor—replacement motors are cheap and worth trying before buying a new vacuum.
