What type of mousepad material holds up better in direct sunlight?

Polyester mousepads hold up better in direct sunlight than nylon. Polyester is inherently more UV-resistant and outlasts nylon, which breaks down faster, gets brittle, and fades sooner. If your desk faces a window, skip nylon entirely.
