What type of extension cord should I get for outdoor use?

Get an SJTW extension cord. The “W” means weather-resistant, so it handles UV, moisture, and cold without cracking. Cheap indoor cords will get brittle and short out outdoors. SJTW cords cost a bit more but last years instead of months.
