What type of chainsaw is best for noise-sensitive areas?

Electric chainsaws, especially battery-powered ones, are the obvious choice. They run at a fraction of the decibels and start instantly with a button pull, avoiding the loud two-stroke buzz and warm-up ritual of gas saws. The trade-off is less power and runtime for heavy, all-day work, but for pruning or suburban yard use, electric is quieter and less likely to annoy neighbors.
