What type of chainsaw chain should I use for frozen wood?

Use a full-chisel chain. Its sharp square-cornered cutters bite into hard, frozen wood better than the rounded cutters on a semi-chisel chain, which dulls faster and bogs down in these conditions. Full chisel clears chips aggressively and cuts faster, though it’s more prone to kickback. Keep the chain sharp and touch up with a file every couple tanks.
