What speed should I run my variable-speed pool pump at?

Run it as slow as possible for most of the day—around 1200–1800 RPM (20–40 GPM). Only use high speed (3450 RPM) for vacuuming, water features, or after heavy rain. Aim for one full turnover of your pool’s volume in 8–12 hours at the lowest RPM that still lets the skimmer work and triggers flow-sensitive equipment.
