What should I use to raise pool alkalinity without spiking pH?

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is the go-to for raising total alkalinity in a pool. It’s cheap, safe, and won’t spike your pH like soda ash would. Use about 1.5 lbs per 10,000 gallons to raise alkalinity by 10 ppm.
