What science kit actually gets kids excited about science?

The National Geographic Kids Science Experiment Kit. It has genuinely engaging experiments, clear instructions a kid can follow alone, and immediate payoffs that hold attention — my nine-year-old unprompted said science is cool after using it, which my entire K-12 education never managed.
