What kind of solar cover should I get for my pool?

Get a thick, opaque solar cover—12 or 16 mil—because clear covers lose heat faster at night. Opaque covers reflect heat back into the water. Thickness insulates better and resists tearing. Also buy a reel, or the cover is a hassle to use.
