What kind of mousepad should I use for high-DPI gaming?

Get a smooth cloth pad like a Steelseries QcK or Artisan Zero. Pixel skipping at 16000+ DPI comes from sensor jitter on uneven surfaces, so avoid pads with patterns, grit, or glossy finishes. Hard pads work too, but they must be matte to prevent reflection issues.
