What kind of cooler should I get for saltwater use?
Get a rotomolded cooler with stainless steel hardware. Rotomolded construction is tough and won’t corrode, but the hardware is the weak point — stainless steel latches, hinges, and drain plugs are non-negotiable. Yeti is overhyped and expensive; Engel and RTIC offer the same durability for less. Avoid coolers with integrated cup holders or extra plastic bits that saltwater can get into.
