What is the ideal salt level for a saltwater pool?

3000–4000 ppm is the sweet spot, with around 3200 ppm being ideal for most systems. Too low (below 2500 ppm) wears out the cell, and too high can corrode fixtures or taste salty. Test monthly and add pool salt only when needed.
