What is the best way to store extension cords to avoid damage?

Use large, loose loops at least a foot in diameter instead of tight coiling or wrapping around your elbow, which creates kinks that damage insulation. Fold the cord loosely and tie it off with the cord itself or a Velcro strap. Store them off concrete floors and out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.
