What is the best day to avoid crowds in peak summer?

Tuesday is your best bet. Most people arrive Friday or Saturday and leave Sunday or Monday, so by Tuesday the weekend crowd is gone and the next wave hasn’t arrived yet. Wednesday and Thursday are close seconds, but Tuesday is the dead zone. Check local events calendars first, but otherwise Tuesday is your quietest shot.
