What inspired Merzbow's Pulse Demon?

A fuzz box and the 1970s afro-rock band Demon Fuzz inspired Merzbow’s Pulse Demon. The title combines “Demon Fuzz” with the fuzz box used as a pulse generator, and some song titles came from Jon Appleton’s Appleton Syntonic Menagerie LP.
