What drum machines and synthesizers did Prince use to build the drum sounds on Sign o' the Times?

Many of the drum sounds on Sign o’ the Times came from the Linn LM-1 drum machine, and Prince used the Fairlight CMI synthesizer to replace other instruments. The result is one of the best-sounding drum albums of the 1980s — all machine, all soul.
