What causes cloudy pool water if chlorine and pH are fine?

Cloudy pool water is usually too much calcium hardness, not chlorine or pH. Once calcium hardness goes above 400 ppm (or lower with high alkalinity), the water turns milky or hazy. If shocking and clarifying don’t work, test for calcium and fix it with a partial drain and refill or a flocculant.
