What are the signs that a pool pump motor is dying?
Listen for grinding or screeching noises (failing bearings), a hum without water movement (bad capacitor or seized motor), or a tripping breaker (internal damage). Also check for a steady leak around the shaft seal, which lets water into the motor windings. If caught early, you can replace bearings or capacitor, but if the motor is over 5–7 years old, swap the whole pump.
