What are the signs of a failing MacBook SSD?

The most obvious sign is a folder with a question mark on boot. Other signs include frequent kernel panics, apps crashing for no reason, the spinning beach ball that never goes away, corrupted files you can’t copy, or Disk Utility errors when running First Aid. But SSDs can fail silently, so back up even if you see no signs.
