LiDAR mapping allows room-specific cleaning and no-go zones, so you can set it to avoid a kids’ playmat or a specific area entirely without needing physical barriers. But thick shag carpets and high-pile rugs are still a problem — it’ll climb on, get stuck, and wait for rescue. The obstacle avoidance is solid for the things you choose, less so for the flooring itself.
