Sodium dichlor vs calcium hypochlorite: Convenience vs strength
Calcium hypochlorite is stronger and cheaper per pound of chlorine, but it adds calcium and raises pH, requiring pre-dissolving. Sodium dichlor is easier to use—just toss it in—but adds cyanuric acid, which can lock up chlorine if overused. Choose dichlor when stabilizer is low, calcium hypo when it’s high.
