Should I visit Prospect Point or the observation tower at Niagara Falls?

It depends on what you want. Prospect Point puts you right at the edge of the American Falls — you feel the mist, hear the roar, and get soaked for an intimate, visceral experience. The tower gives you a bird’s-eye view of the entire Horseshoe Falls and gorge for a spectacular but distant panorama. If you want to feel the power, go to Prospect Point; if you want the postcard view, take the tower. Both are worth doing but not interchangeable.
