Should I use household bleach or pool chlorine for my pool?

Pool chlorine is the smarter buy. Household bleach works but requires annoying dosage math and lacks stabilizer, so chlorine burns off fast in sunlight. Pool chlorine is stronger (10–12% vs 5–8%), often includes UV stabilizer, and has clear dosing instructions. Save bleach for laundry unless it’s a last-minute emergency or tiny kiddie pool.
