Should I use ECC RAM for my pfSense build?

Skip it. pfSense is a firewall, not a database or render farm, so memory errors are rare and non-critical. For 99.9% of users, the money is better spent on a higher-quality NIC or a beefier CPU. If you already have ECC hardware, use it, but don’t go out of your way to buy it.
