Should I use a two-prong or three-prong extension cord for my tool?

Stick with whatever prongs the tool has. If it has a two-prong plug, use a two-prong cord; if three prongs, use a three-prong cord. Never cut off the ground prong or use a cheater plug unless the outlet is actually grounded.
