Should I update my BIOS before installing 32GB of RAM?
Probably not, unless your motherboard is several years old or you’re using a very early chipset. Most DDR4 and DDR5 boards from the last 5+ years support 32GB out of the box — no BIOS update needed. Exceptions include early Ryzen or older Intel platforms (Haswell, Skylake) that may have capped memory or buggy training. If your board is from 2020 or later, you’re almost certainly fine.
