Should I season a new cooler before using it?

Don’t bother. The “seasoning” myth is recycled from old metal coolers and forum posts. Modern rotomolded coolers (Yeti, RTIC, etc.) work fine out of the box. Instead, pre-chill the cooler with ice or frozen bottles an hour before packing — that’s what actually helps.
