Should I get an electric chainsaw or a gas chainsaw for home use?
Get an electric chainsaw for occasional home use. Gas is overkill — electric starts every time, no fuel mixing, lighter, quieter, and less hassle for clearing branches. Battery models (40V or 60V) handle limbs up to 12 inches, and corded ones are cheaper but tether you to an outlet. Gas only makes sense for heavy firewood cutting, felling big trees, or professional use.
