Should I choose LiDAR or camera-based navigation for a vacuum that runs in the dark?

LiDAR wins for dark rooms because it uses lasers instead of cameras, which need light. Even high-end camera vacs with LEDs struggle in total darkness or complex shadows. LiDAR works equally well at 2 AM with lights off, using the same tech as self-driving cars. The tradeoff is LiDAR adds a bump on top, making the vacuum taller, while camera models are flatter for low couches.
