Should I bother with ECC RAM for a Ryzen 5 5600X build?

Don’t bother. ECC on consumer Ryzen is a gray area—CPU and chipset support it, but motherboards rarely validate it, and many boards refuse to boot or ignore the ECC part. You pay more for slower RAM (most ECC tops at 3200MHz with looser timings), and for a gaming/workstation chip, bit flips aren’t a real problem. Just buy cheap non-ECC 3600 CL16 RAM instead.
