Robot vacuum only vs robot vacuum with mop: Skip the mop on mixed floors

A robot vacuum works great on tile and hardwood, but the mopping part is the problem. On hardwood, wet pads or water tanks risk pooling water, warped planks, and finish damage. Stick to a dry robot for both surfaces and mop tile by hand — combo units on mixed floors are asking for trouble unless the robot is smart enough to detect wood.
