Pink Floyd vs The Beatles: Piper and Sgt. Pepper's were recorded simultaneously at Abbey Road

Pink Floyd recorded Piper at the Gates of Dawn in Studio B while The Beatles made Sgt. Pepper’s in Studio A next door. The key difference is that The Beatles were already global superstars, while Pink Floyd was just starting out. Both albums came out in 1967, but Sgt. Pepper’s overshadowed Piper commercially.
