Marine cooler vs regular cooler: Marine is overkill unless you actually live on a boat
Marine coolers are built for salt spray, UV rays, and wave impacts — with heavy-duty latches, rubber gaskets, and non-skid feet. A regular rotomolded cooler like a Yeti or RTIC handles beach trips and camping just fine. The marine tax buys you stainless steel hardware and a thru-hull drain plug, which only matters if you’re mounting it on a boat or leaving it in direct sun for years. For occasional use, save your money.
