Is upgrading to 16GB DDR3 worth it?

Only if the upgrade costs $20–30 and your laptop is otherwise fine. If it’s $50+, save for a new laptop — DDR3 is dead tech. Make sure you actually need 16GB; 8GB is still fine for browsing and documents.
