Is the Insect Lore Bug Viewer good for close-ups and as a catch-all container?

The dual magnification is genuinely impressive for the price — my kid spent a solid afternoon inspecting leaves and ants. Just don’t expect it to double as a critter keeper; it’s a viewer, not a habitat.
