Is my mousepad causing input lag or tracking problems?

Probably not. Test it by comparing cursor response on a known good surface (like a desk) vs. the suspect pad. If they feel the same, the pad is fine. Most “input lag” is actually sensor issues from glossy or weird textures. For certainty, draw a slow line in Paint on both surfaces—if the pad’s line has jitter or skips, it’s the culprit; if identical, it’s innocent. Wipe the pad with a damp cloth first—dust and grease are usually the real problem.
