Is cloudy pool water normal after shocking?
Yes, cloudy water for up to 24 hours after shocking is normal. Dead algae and oxidized particles get kicked up and need time for the filter to catch them. Run your filter 24 hours straight, keep pH between 7.2–7.6 and alkalinity 80–120 ppm. If it’s still cloudy after 48 hours, use a clarifier or flocculant.
