How should I store pool chemicals to keep them safe?

Keep each chemical in its original container, tightly sealed, in a plastic tub or on a shelf where nothing can leak into another. Store them away from metal and in a locked shed or cabinet, especially if kids or pets might get in. Temperature matters too — aim for a consistent 40–80°F spot, and move them indoors if your shed gets too hot. The cost of a lock and bin is way less than a chemical fire or ER visit.
